The Story
At the beginning of this year Hayley Bisofsky-Pope aka Stovesincoves came up with the brilliant idea to adjust the popular 1000 mile challenge to 365 hours, to make the challenge more accessible.
The original challenge required people to walk 2.73 miles every day of the year... EVERY DAY! So to make the challenge more accessible, and being a new mother herself, Hayley tweaked the challenge to being in nature for an hour a day, 365 days a year.
This could be simply meditating, soaking in the sea air, sounds of the rustling leaves in the forest or indeed a jog around a park. This made it accessible for people like my fiancee who is also a new mum and cannot commit to nearly 3 miles per day.
My fiancee is, as I type this walking among the sand dunes at Govrevy coast and walking our 7 month old baby boy and year old Cockerpoo. Her mental health is miles better, physical health too. In general this nature therapy has made her more happy.
StovesinCoves created a # on Instagram #my365naturehours and now thousands are taking up the torch, reaping the benefits and as a bonus, becoming more environmentally aware. With this and a not so gentle nudge from my fiancee I decided to create the #my365naturehours t-shirt and donate the proceeds to a local environmental/nature based charity (yet to be decided)
The Manufacturing
The t-shirts will be printed either by Teemill who provide a circular economy, eco friendly inks and recyclable shirts. Or local screen printers using Climate Neutral t-shirts and water friendly inks.
